In Mis amigos de siempre (2013), three childhood friends reunite almost 20 years later at their old neighborhood fútbol club – but this ain’t just a friendly match. The club’s broke, nostalgia’s hitting hard, and love triangles are coming in hot. Julián, an international soccer hottie with a player rep (on and off the field), returns home and gets tackled by love when he meets Bárbara, a badass accountant/fútbol queen… who also just so happens to be engaged.
Meanwhile, Manuel’s pouring regrets and whiskey at his bar, catching feelings for Leo – until he starts crushing on Rocío, his bestie Simón’s wife. Speaking of Simón, he’s in a full-life meltdown: stuck in a dead-end job, drifting from his wife, and drawn to Tania, Bárbara’s DJ cousin who brings the party and the chaos. Oh, and Simón’s estranged dad just rolled back into town… with a surprise sibling in tow.
With a scheming femme fatale, a make-or-break fútbol tournament, and more emotional fouls than a World Cup final, these amigos are about to learn that friendship, like love, is a team sport.
