Welcome to Telemundo’s La suerte de Loli (2021), where the real glow-up doesn’t come from career wins, but from unexpected love and the family you never saw coming.
When career queen Loli (Silvia Navarro) is out here slaying the radio game as executive producer at the top West Coast station, motherhood is definitely not on her playlist. She’s living her best single, drama-free life – until her ride-or-die bestie Mariana drops a bombshell from beyond the grave. Get this: Mariana leaves her kids to Loli. And just like that, our girl is about to go from solo boss mode to full-time mami.
The predictable twist? Loli has zero clue how to raise kids, much less juggle them with a job that owns her calendar. And just as she’s trying to find her rhythm, life serves up surprise feelings, long-lost secrets, and maybe even Mr. Right hiding in plain sight.
Say goodbye to spontaneous girls’ trips and hello to PTA meetings and packed lunches. It’s a heartwarming workplace-meets-found-family dramedy that gives the bachelor dad trope a much-needed makeover, and tbh… it was about time.
What got our attention:
Silvia Navarro is always the moment. She’s the only reason this very predictable story worked. Silvia nails Loli’s chaotic transition from carefree queen to slightly frazzled mamá with warmth and wit. Add in solid performances from novela vets like Osvaldo Benavides (still charming), Gaby Espino (gorgeous), and Carlos Ponce (iconic), and you’ve got a cast that knows exactly what it’s doing.
Worth watching?
We say yes – if you’re in the right mood. It’s giving Jane the Virgin meets Ugly Betty but with a maternal glow-up. The tone keeps it playful without losing heart, which makes it easy to root for Loli, even when the script stumbles.
Telebesitos Tip 💋
We’ve seen the “dude suddenly stuck with kids finds his heart” story a thousand times. A boss lady taking on the chaos in high heels with a messy heart? Way fresher.
