Amor en custodia (2005) is the TV Azteca telenovela that asked: “What happens when your bodyguard becomes your soulmate?” And the answer? Chaos, passion, and a briefcase full of forbidden love.
Inspired by the Argentine original, this Mexican remake went full glam and full drama with 236 episodes (!) of high-society mess, emotional breakdowns, and steamy tension that had viewers clutching their pearls.
The story kicks into gear with Paz Achával Urién (Margarita Gralia), a powerful businesswoman with a guarded heart and a literal bodyguard named Juan Manuel Aguirre (Sergio Basañez). Sparks fly, but class divides and family secrets make their love a total scandal. Meanwhile, Paz’s daughter Bárbara (Paola Núñez) falls for her bodyguard, Nicolás (Andrés Palacios), and suddenly we’ve got double trouble.
