Club de Cuervos (2015) kicked off on Netflix as the first Spanish-language original, starring Luis Gerardo Méndez, Mariana Treviño, and Stephanie Cayo. It’s a fast, funny spiral of family feuds, boardroom betrayals, and legacy power plays.
After the death of the owner of Nuevo Toledo’s beloved fútbol team Los Cuervos, the future of the club lands in the chaotic hands of his kids. Chava Jr. is a rich party boy with champagne taste, Cristiano Ronaldo dreams, and no clue how to run a soccer team. Meanwhile, Isabel (Mariana Treviño) is the sharp, control-freak sister who actually knows how to run things. But instead of unity, the siblings go head-to-head for power, dragging the entire club into scandal, sabotage, and near relegation. Toss in papá’s hot little mistress Mary Luz (Stephanie Cayo) demanding her cut (and maybe a baby) and the Cuervos become less about winning matches and more about surviving the mess.
Chava’s out here dreaming of making the Cuervos the “Real Madrid of Latin America” (bless his delusional heart), but his clown-level antics mostly just tick off the coach, the VP, and anyone with two working brain cells. Meanwhile, the players are stuck in the splash zone of his chaos, forced to juggle fame, scandals, and locker room politics like it’s a full-time telenovela.
Club de Cuervos is fútbol with family baggage – where every goal comes with shade, sabotage, and a side of sibling rivalry.
Telebesitos Tip 💋
If Michael Scott ran a soccer team instead of Dunder Mifflin, it might look a lot like Club de cuervos. This one’s a rare W for Netflix. Just know – after the knockout first season, a few storylines and romance arcs start drifting hard into CW territory.
