The story centers on Natalia Garrido (Laura Carmine), a warm-hearted woman living a simple life who is suddenly pulled back into the orbit of her estranged twin sister, Verónica. They may share a face, but that’s where the similarities end. Verónica is icy, glamorous, and married to wealthy hotel magnate Felipe Esquivel (Julián Gil), whom she’s already bored of.
Wanting to run off with her lover for a year, Verónica pressures Natalia into taking her place inside the Esquivel mansion. Fear, guilt, and old wounds push Natalia to agree. But once she steps into that life, she learns Verónica left behind more than designer clothes and diamonds.
