Mi fortuna es amarte (2021) is a Mexican telenovela from TelevisaUnivision, starring Susana González, David Zepeda, and Sergio Sendel. When life hands you heartbreak and real estate fraud… just move in with your nemesis and see what happens.
When Natalia Robles (Susana González) gets all glammed up for her 20th anniversary dinner, the only thing missing is… her husband. Turns out Adrián (Sergio Sendel, king of slimeball roles) skipped the soirée to run off with her best friend, Verónica – the BFF turned certified homewrecker – who just pulled a full-time villain arc. The two lovers broke hearts and laws, scamming their real-estate clients and vanishing faster than a telenovela villain after the commercial break.
Natalia’s left with maxed-out credit, public humiliation, and two daughters wondering why mamá looks like she’s about to join a revenge montage. But our queen doesn’t crumble – she rebuilds. Enter Vicente “Chente” (David Zepeda), a sweet, widowed single dad whose wife was tragically killed in a robbery. He’s kind, wounded, and (kinda saw it coming) one of Adrián’s many scam victims.
When their messy lives crash into each other, sparks fly (and for once, no one’s getting burned). Between heartbreak, healing, and second chances, Natalia and Chente’s story proves that rock bottom sometimes comes with good lighting and better men.

Mi fortuna es amarte: Love, Loss, and Second Chances – spoiler: someone will cry.
Where it shined:
The emotional payoff in this series delivers. If you stikc with it, Mi fortuna es amarte hits you right in the corazón, packing betrayal, grief, love, and redemption into a telenovela-sized emotional therapy session.
Where the sparkle faded:
The melodrama level in this novela is not subtle. Prepare yourself for some whiplash moments where the characters are crying, yelling, confessing, and gaslighting themselves (and you) within the span of five minutes.
Worth watching?
Síp. It won’t reinvent your TV life, but it will make you root, cry, and maybe text your mom “I love you” halfway through.
Telebesitos Tip 💋
This one is pure “healing through love,” “family goals,” and “please somebody hug these characters immediately.” Revenge might be tempting, but rebuilding your life with David Zepeda on your arm is way more therapeutic.
