Mañana es para siempre (2008) – Review: Come for the stars, stay for the villainy
Rating: 4/5 –
The Premise
Mañana es para siempre is pure vintage Televisa – full of family drama, hidden identities, and elaborate revenge plots. Set against a sprawling backdrop of power and betrayal, it follows Fernanda (Silvia Navarro) and Eduardo (Fernando Colunga) as they fight for love and justice while dodging 160 episodes of chaos stirred up by the wicked Bárbara Greco (Lucero, living her villain era to the fullest).
What Got Us Hooked
The cast is absolutely stacked. Fernando Colunga brings his usual charm and steady presence, Silvia Navarro delivers heart and grit, and Sergio Sendel practically twirls his mustache with how good he is at being bad. But the true MVP here is Lucero, who steals every scene she slithers into as Bárbara. Her chilling, manipulative performance gave the show a delicious edge and made her one of the most iconic antagonists of her time. Seeing Colunga and Lucero reunited again after Alborada was just the cherry on top.
What Didn’t Land
160 episodes is a major commitment, and you’re gonna feel it. The story meanders, with a few plot circles that could’ve been trimmed without losing any emotional punch. Plus, visually and stylistically, it’s showing its age with all the heavy lighting, old-school melodrama, and early-2000s production vibes that scream another era.
The Vibe
Think classic Televisa intensity with just a little dust on it. This novela brings high-stakes emotions, classic betrayals, and some truly unhinged villainy, all wrapped in a slightly dated but still charming package. Perfect if you’re feeling nostalgic or just want to watch some novela royalty duke it out with dramatic flair.
Worth Watching?
If you’re craving a vintage marathon and live for a novela where the villain practically hijacks the spotlight, Mañana es para siempre still serves up plenty of drama. Just know – it’s a long haul, and even top-tier performances can’t always rescue a storyline that likes to wander off.

Telebesitos Tip
If villains are your love language, Lucero’s portrayal of Barbara Greco is the toxic romance you won’t want to quit.

Would you also like a second slightly punchier or even cheekier version?
