Argentinian telenovela Los ricos no piden permiso (2016) throws us into the sprawling Santamarina estate, where land, love, and lies are all up for grabs. At the center is the wealthy Villalba family, with matriarch Angélica (Raquel Welch? No, but Susana Giménez would approve) running the show while her six children juggle scandals, forbidden crushes, and power plays that could topple their dynasty.
Of course, what’s a giant ranch without a little upstairs-downstairs chaos? The Villalbas’ staff has just as much tea to spill, and when their lives entangle with the family’s, expect betrayals, steamy affairs, and class wars sharper than a pair of Louboutin stilettos.
With 180+ episodes of backstabbing, passion, and more horse-riding slow-mos than you can count, this Argentine telenovela serves nonstop “rich people problems” with a side of messy romance. Iconic, overstuffed, and totally irresistible – because when the rich want something, they don’t ask.
