The Telenovela Gods said, “Let There Be Drama!”
Lights, camera, catastrophe! Las hijas de la señora García (2024) storms out of TelevisaUnivision with ambition, glam, and generational drama. A spicy reboot of Mrs. Fazilet and Her Daughters by Sırma Yanık, this José Alberto Castro production stars María Sorté, Oka Giner, and Ela Velden as the fierce femmes chasing fortune and freedom.
In a world where dreams cost pesos and beauty is currency, Ofelia (María Sorté) is ready to cash in. Her entire playbook revolves around launching her youngest daugher, Mar (Ela Velden) into stardom. With fame and fortune in her sights, Ofelia starts dragging Mar to casting calls like it’s her full-time job. But the real star in hiding is Valeria (Oka Giner), the older daughter who couldn’t care less about glam and comes armed with sharp instincts, sharper comebacks, and attitude to spare. She’d rather lift weights than chase clout, and guess who takes notice? Arturo (Brandon Peniche), the rich, reckless heir to a fashion empire who can’t resist Valeria’s fire.
When Ofelia lands a job as housekeeper for the powerful Portilla fam, she sees her golden ticket. But she’s not the only one with designs on the dynasty. Valeria’s suddenly caught in a love triangle with two Portilla brothers, Mar gets pulled under the wing of the quiet one, and the whole house is one sizzling closet of secrets. One casting call, two families, and enough drama to crash Televisa’s server.
Based on: Mrs. Fazilet and Her Daughters (Turkey, 2017)
Telebesitos Tip 💋
Yes, it’s another novela about rich people with problems – but Las hijas de la señora García serves it up big, bold, and gloriously unhinged. José Alberto “El Güero” Castro is still the undisputed king of layered chaos . He’s clearly back in his element here (the drama’s so good we’re officially taking back every shady thing we said about El maleficio).
But as powerful as the show is, there’s no getting around it – some storylines went full fantasyland. And you need to prepare yourself – the shouting in this one is loud enough to set off your car alarm from the driveway.

Not gonna lie, Las hijas de la Sra. García took me a minute to get into. She comes out swinging with a big opener but then goes for a stroll for like 10 episodes. But… once the plot finally kicked in, she had me hooked in a biggg way 🔥
Valeria and Arturo were the real draw for me, imo Oka Giner is leveling up fast, she’s giving future huge star energy in the best way✨💅 By mid‑season Valeria becomes that girl, and was the main reason I kept pressing next episode.
Slow start, but once it hits? It hits 💖✨
