He’s obsessed. She’s trapped. And no, she’s not here to fulfill his twisted fairytale. La mujer del diablo (2022) is a Mexican telenovela by TelevisaUnivision that premiered on Vix+. This original thriller stars Carolina Miranda and José Ron, with Adriana Louvier and José Pablo Minor adding heat to the drama.
Natalia Vallejo (Carolina Miranda) is a small-town schoolteacher dreaming of ditching chalkboards for beaches and a big-time tourism biz. But her escape plan hits a detour when Cristo Beltran (José Ron) enters the chat with suit, swagger, and secrets for days.
By day, Cristo plays the charming hometown hero – all smiles, swagger, and small-town royalty vibes. But behind that perfect grin is a whole criminal empire built on lies and power plays. When he spots Natalia, it’s like every red flag in the universe starts waving. He wants her, and saying “no” isn’t an option in Cristo’s vocabulary. The twist? Natalia’s already in love with someone else, which only cranks up his obsession. What follows is pure telenovela chaos: manipulation, danger, and passion so toxic it should come with a warning label.
How we got hooked:
The chemistry between José Ron and Carolina Miranda is straight-up electric. It’s messy, magnetic, and just a little bit terrifying. Think obsession, control, and dark passion all tangled up in one chaotic, borderline-unhinged situationship. You’ll be watching through your fingers before the first episode is up.
Proceed with caution:
La mujer del diablo’s storyline teeters somewhere between boldly fresh and just plain… ew. On one hand, it’s a gutsy swing: darker, more psychological, and way more intense than your average novela. But the power imbalance between Cristo and Natalia can feel less “forbidden passion” and more “girl, blink twice if you need help.”
Worth watching?
If you’re into sexy chaos, slow-burn corruption arcs, and antiheroes you love to hate, this one’s for you. If you’re hoping for wholesome romance or feel good endings… keep scrolling.
