Synopsis

Hasta que el dinero nos separe (2009–2010) is a 231-episode Mexican hit produced by Emilio Larrosa for Televisa. A remake of the Colombian favorite, this one floors the gas on chaos, class clashes, and the unexpected sparks that fly when money gets messy.

It all kicks off when Rafael Medina (Pedro Fernández), a well-meaning but accident-prone salesman, crashes into the luxury car of Alejandra Álvarez del Castillo (Itatí Cantoral), a razor-sharp executive who does not do forgiveness. The accident wrecks more than just a car – it derails her career and leaves her buried in medical bills.

So she does what any furious, desperate boss would do – she forces Rafael to work it off.

Now stuck at the Siglo XXI dealership, Rafael becomes her reluctant employee, punching in under a woman who thrives on control while he thrives on… barely surviving the day. Between office politics, sabotage from eccentric coworkers, and Rafael’s endless ability to make things worse before they get better, their dynamic is pure friction. But somewhere in the middle of all that yelling, scheming, and shared stress, something softer starts to creep in – the kind of connection that threatens Alejandra’s polished world and her engagement to the opportunistic Marco Valenzuela (Víctor Noriega).

From showroom floors to social hierarchies, the story leans into the absurdity of corporate life while poking at deeper tensions between status, pride, and survival. What begins as a debt turns into a battle of wills, and eventually, something neither of them planned for – a love that refuses to stay in its lane.

Based on: Hasta que la plata nos separe (2006)
