Netflix’s Spanish series Elite (2018) is set at Las Encinas, the bougie high school where the uniforms are designer, the secrets are lethal, and the gossip never cools down.
Elite throws you headfirst into the glossy chaos of Spain’s most extra private school, where three scholarship students crash the social scene of the ultra-rich – with drama, desire, and danger hot on their heels.
What starts as class warfare quickly heats up into full-blown scandal, complete with forbidden love triangles, secret hookups, epic betrayals, and more plot twists than a telenovela on fast-forward. As masked parties turn into murder scenes and Instagram-perfect lives crack under pressure, no one’s truly innocent – and everyone’s got something to hide.
With every season upping the ante (and the body count), Elite is equal parts glossy teen soap and murder mystery, dripping in luxe vibes and terrible choices. At Las Encinas, privilege is power, betrayal is currency, and survival is never guaranteed.
What got us hooked:
Élite had us in a chokehold the minute it dropped. It’s basically Gossip Girl’s spicier, bloodier Spanish cousin. Season one was peak teen chaos – the kind of show where your thumb is already hovering over “Next Episode” before the credits roll.
When the vibes shifted:
After season one, the show locked into a formula: rich kids, bad decisions, and at least one dead body per semester. By season five, you’re hate-watching with one eye open, and by season six, you’re tapping out – about four seasons after you probably should’ve.
Telebesitos Tip 💋
Season one is the moment. If it had ended there this would have become a cult classic. But watching it nosedive was like seeing your favorite influencer go full MLM. Sad but not surprising.
