Pasión y Poder (2015) is rich-people warfare with perfect hair, expensive suits, and grudges that have been marinating for decades. Produced by José Alberto Castro for Televisa, this glossy remake became must-watch TV for one major reason: Fernando Colunga and Jorge Salinas going head-to-head like two alpha kings who refuse to age out of the fight.
The war begins with Eladio Gómez Luna (Fernando Colunga) and Arturo Montenegro (Jorge Salinas), enemies since their youth and still fully committed to mutual destruction. At the center of it all is Julia Vallado (Susana González), the woman they both loved. Years ago, a betrayal changed everything, leading Julia to marry Eladio instead of Arturo. In the present, Eladio is powerful, wealthy, controlling, and still deeply bothered by the possibility that Julia never stopped loving the other man. Arturo, meanwhile, built his own empire but never truly let go either.
Then the next generation makes things worse.
Arturo’s daughter Regina (Michelle Renaud) falls for Eladio’s son David (José Pablo Minor), turning old bitterness into a fresh family disaster. Their romance throws both clans into nonstop collision mode, exposing illegitimate children, secret alliances, betrayals, and enough corporate sabotage to fill a boardroom graveyard.
One of the biggest draws is Colunga playing against type as Eladio – darker, crueler, more wounded than heroic. Pasión y Poder is all about control, obsession, and whether love can survive when everyone in the room would rather win than heal.

Telebesitos tip 💋
The secret sauce of Pasión y Poder is its villains – it’s rare for a telenovela to give its antagonists this much depth. Whether you’re here for the heartbreak, the revenge, or just to watch Fernando Colunga burn it all down with one smirk, this show brings the fuego.
You’ll know by episode 10 if you’re either Team Eladio or Team Arturo. There are no wrong answers. Only drama.
